The prompt for today is: What Color Is It? Select a random noun. When you see an image of this person/place/thing, what color is it? Brainstorm the different ways the color can be described. Write a poem to help us see something in color through your eyes. Use an appropriately sourced and credited image of your chosen noun to illustrate your poem.
With this, I took one of my paintings and looked at each piece and tried to describe the colors. Beside it, I added a poetic rendering.
golden veined outlines revered skeleton
living frameworks for holding riches
sheets filled with the rainbow of God’s palette
light then dark shades of blue windows
dotted with the stars to the stars
glowing orange eyes bright knowing
gold and orange antennae bright feeling
harvest yellow orb draws yearning with each tiny breath
butterflies of the night gathering in splendor
deep orange and blue midnight’s bloom
moonflower, touched by perfumes darkness
white and lined with gold reflecting moonlight
many shades of the sky a symphony of colors
medium, turquoise, royal within one
and one impassive sock monkey superego be damned!
You have created a vivid and colourful picture with your words.

I especially enjoyed the moonflower touched by perfume’s darkness line here. Evocative and deliciously sensual!
