Agents of Light

David Cronenberg’s 1983 film, Videodrome, starring James Woods, with Debbie Harry (yes, Blondie) is a horror movie that shows by merely watching television you take in a horrible virus that destroys your mind. It is promoted as fictional and possibly considered science fiction as well. It’s also, beyond question, social commentary on humans in the electronic age.

The Bilderberg group did not intervene in the production and distribution of Videodrome, as they knew most would consider it as a simple horror movie and move on. What the public does not realize is that Videodrome is real. As each of us stare at our varying screens for so many minutes or hours each day, nefarious forces are at work, rewiring our synapses and priming us for destruction.

Meanwhile, as the Dark Overlords are at work priming our minds and as we are inhaling the electronic virii through our eyes, forces of light are at work, superheroes if you will. Call us lucky or call it divine intervention, but a Superhero Cosmic Butterfly of Lipstick Light is twanging on the matrix piano to neutralize the evil. Maa Gaia has been recruiting souls, housed in skin, aka humans, that are imbued with light to weave ideas, thoughts, and images into stories, also taken in through the optic nerves, which then travel to the hearts and souls of their readers. As their heart and soulstrings are resonated, it shakes off the videodrome disease.

These Agents of Light are beacons. Even in the darkest hour, you can see their light. This story started out as fiction, but you know what, it has turned into an essay based on truth as I see it.

The End.

Fandango’s FOWC is meanwhile, the Word of the Day Challenge is lucky, Paula’s 3 Things Challenge words are lipstick, piano, butterfly , and Teresa’s Haunted Wordsmith Daily Prompts are superhero, “Even in the darkest hour, you can see his (or her) light.”, and the photo.

  1. Okay, this is pretty creepy. I haven’t seen that movie, but I do have a feeling that there is more truth to it than not. I’ve read a lot about the Bilderburgers, and things like that. I also believe there are people who are ‘light workers’, and in fact some people in the past have said I was one. I don’t know about that, but sure gives us something to think about.
    Excellent post! 🙂

  2. Your imagination soars as usual Jade Li. That’s why I like reading your blogs. So unpredictable. Never know where it’s going to take you. I do talk to the TV sometimes, especially when my team is losing.
