For OctWriPoMo, “today’s prompt is See Me. I love the simplicity and strength of this statement. What is it that you wish others knew about you? What would you want those in your closest relationships to acknowledge? What is your truth?” The suggested form is haibun which is a combination of prose, then haiku following, where the two are bonded into the idea. Instead of a haiku, I put a senryu instead.
Firefly
You can see me through my words, through the compositions, thoughts, impressions, aversions, delights, triggers, political beliefs, remembrances, sorrows, affiliations, appreciations, favorites, compatriots, enemies, aspirations, occupations, visualizations, causes, effects, just about any and every thing. You can only see bits and pieces. It’s complicated. It is so often that the meaning of a person, place, or thing can only be understood through reading between the lines. See me.
Your eyes follow me
by my glowing random dots —
your soul connects them

Such a wonderful glimpse into you. Love this.

What a lovely, lovely image, of connecting firefly dots to illuminate you. This is beautiful! I’ve never tried a senryu before, now I’ll have to someday!
