Wandering Spirit is the third solo album by Mick Jagger. Released in 1993, it was his only solo album release of the 1990s. It was well-received by the critics, per wikipedia.
My selection from this excellent album is, “Hang on to Me Tonight”. Billy Preston may or may not be playing keyboard on this one (there are two keyboardists on the album but not said who plays on what songs.) There are no bad cuts on it. It is not a concept album. Each song stands alone.
Like a picture you came into my life
Like a picture the colours fade away
Love is fragile, you hide it from the light
It lasts forever and always stays the same
Like a movie, you swept into my life
And like a movie, the stars just fade away
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me all day
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me all day
Ah honey, while there’s youth upon your face
Ah honey, are you tiring of the race?
My cards are on the table
You can get up and walk away
Or stay
Like a movie, you came into my life
Like a movie, the stars just fade away
All the characters are mouthing out their lines
And the love scenes are shot in shades of grey
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me all day
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me all day
Ah baby, while there’s youth upon your face
Ah baby, don’t you lose that natural grace
My cards are on the table
You can get up and walk away
Or stay
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me always
Hang on to me tonight
Stay close to me, stay close to me all day
Mmm, mmm, yes, uh, mmm, yes
Stay close to me, close to me all day
Stay close to me all day
Songwriters: Michael (Mick) Phillip Jagger

I liked it better than his first album… It wasn’t too bad.
I like the psychedelic bear!

I’m bearing with it – lol – love that bear, and certainly preferred this album to the big sound productions with lots of big guest appearances, this seemed a bit more paired back and authentic.
