Looking for old tax documents this morning — yes, that dreaded time of year again — and came across a piece of paper with a quote I had written down. I share it with you now:
If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have 3 options:
- Remove yourself from the situation.
- Change it
- Accept it totally
If you want to take responsibility for your life, you must choose one of those 3 options, and you must choose now.
Then accept the consequences. No excuses. No negativity. No psychic pollution. Keep your inner space clear.
— Eckhart Tolle

Thank you. Just did a mini-search out there to see who he is. I didn’t realize he was such a prominent person in the spiritual community. Interesting that he is not religious but is considered spiritual. I like that.

Well I believe he’s right. He’s interesting to listen to on podcast interviews.

I bet he is. I started to watch a youtube of his last night about ego and triggering emotions that was pretty interesting. Sounds like he has his own theories and systems worked out.

Yes. He is what might be referred to as, a spiritual independent. There’s a great interview with him by Krista Tippet at On Being

Sounds like good advice to me, but I have already completed my tax return for this year.

I owed a LOT of money this year. With Trump’s new $12,000 standard deduction, I may as well forget about itemizing ever again. Retiring in the middle of the year was a mistake in 2018. I may actually have to go back to work, as I have over a year to go before 62 and social security :(

Words of wisdom. Can relate to the taxes. I am the go to family and friends tax preparer. Just love tax software, makes everything so easy.
