She sat in the car, waiting for the passengers to debark. Delays in Chicago meant she’d waited two extra hours. He was worth it. Five long years since seeing the love of her life.

The plane’s door began to open.

Grabbing the cuffs, she said, “OK, deputy, let’s go get him.”
