PHOTO PROMPT © Roger Bultot
Fifty years ago, Winston was one of the first residents in the high rises built near the old temple. Winston’s wife had died that year and his children insisted he move to their big city to be near them. Pulling up lifelong roots, he moved.
He was a stranger there. He saw the hive of activity around the temple from his window. One Sunday he joined it.
Winston bought a sapling cherry tree and planted it on the front terrace, in memoriam of his dear Martha. Winston passed twenty years ago. The tree blooms every Spring.

Very life like.

Especially since his kids insisted he move to their city, then never visited him!

Superb, Jade! A lovely story, and the tree as a memorial long after Winston was gone. I love this one.

Thank you, Dale. He was blessed to be welcomed in by the congregation and the rest fell into place for him. He even got his children to begin attending services with him :)

I thought Winston was going to be miserable in his new environment, but it turned out well. He didn’t remain an outsider, watching life go on around him. He joined in. He had courage. Well told.
