Science Village is a residential experimental community where one can rent lodging, lab space, and equipment to study whatever needs a lab and equipment. It can be anything from molecules to nitroglycerine, an explosive. There are only two rules: sign liability waiver and no animal (including human) research subjects allowed.
One of the nice features of Science Village is the Green Hub in the center, where the scientists can share meals and ideas with each other. There are always ooh’s and aah’s as one of them revels in a discovery. The latest big OOH! is the creation of Daisy Crystals that look like milkweed fluffs but have the strength of carbon steel.
Cutting edge security and surveillance equipment are installed to protect the lab pods. Another nice feature is that supplies can be ordered through the central database, with invoices sent out monthly. A real plum is an on-staff grants expert who can help the scientists apply for grants and, for a small fee, administer the funds to grant specifications.
Science Village is gaining worldwide recognition, as the papers being published from the research is fruitful to many other scientists. The day Science Village knew it had reached the big league was when Elon Musk showed up one morning and said, “I just happened to be in the neighborhood. Do you mind if I poke around?”
The End.
Fandango’s FOWC is edge, the Word of the Day Challenge is revel, Paula’s 3 Things Challenge words are village, molecule, invoice , and Teresa’s Haunted Wordsmith Daily Prompts are elemental challenge of explosive, the sentence, “Can I poke around?” (modified to “Do you mind if…”,) and the photo.

Great idea, the Village. And very nice, that photo.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a place like this in every region of the country?

Oh wouldn’t that be wonderful, the village not necessarily the daisy crystals ’cause you know my mind has already come up with a dozen ways to weaponize them. muahaha
