50 Word Thursday — Hungry for Beans

DSC03229

As the smiling tourist had his photo taken with the exhibit’s totem leader, neither the tourist nor his friend noticed the wall totem poles inching closer. It was only looking at the snapshots on the phone that they both looked up…. just in time to realize they were surrounded in a cage of wood. The gaping mouths opened wider as they consumed the pesky humans. These ones were easy to catch and would satisfy their hunger for some months. As they inched backwards and into their places along the wall, two new faces could be seen carved into two poles.
