Lena never failed to be amazed by how agile her cat, Mlady, was. Mlady liked to do vertical leaps onto tabletops, then step delicately around each item on the table without wobbling any. One time Lena observed Mlady go through the paneless window of the china cabinet and step over and around each precious knick-knack without moving a one.
What amazed Lena most about Mlady was her gentle touch. She would weave between Lena’s ankles and she would feel the barest brush of fur. Mlady could be an imp at times as well. One of her favorite games was to reach out a paw as Lena walked by and snag her clothing with just one claw. Most times that claw went through only Lena’s clothes; but once in awhile the claw would poke into Lena’s skin, just enough to make her jump.
