OctPoWriMo2019 Day 18 — disappointment — Loop D Loop

Matt Hardman - Disappointment
Disappointment lurks*
In the eyes, in
Smiles weighed down
At the corners,
Pretending to have forgotten.
Pretty please, forget;
Only it may not be until
Infinity slips it out
New gems in the goo.
Twinkling eyes shine
Making helium balloon tug smiles
Easy again
Now is never the
Time to question…

*first line is from Neil Young’s song, Time Fades Away, from the album of the same name.
The form is an acrostic.

Morgan Dragonwillow (and today’s co-host, Punam) is the host of OctPoWriMo.  Punam says:
Today’s Prompt: First Time You Were Disappointed
I would not like to suggest any poetry form today because I know mine is going to be a long ramble. Some of you may say the same thing succinctly in the form of a Haiku! So please, allow the words to flow and maybe we will all learn from each other about disappointments or how to deal with them.
Word Prompts:
Heartbroken
Hurt
Resolve
Broken
Strengthen
This too shall pass
Prayer
Overcome
Faith
Give up

Pretty please forget! A gem of line when we talk about painful memories.
