Pine boughs bent with snow
Hide birds from numbing death
Withering winds hunt
Winter’s shortened days
Farenheit falls, wind gallops
Whistling ‘cross the plain
Lost in blind blizzard
A traveler lays down
Now warm and sleepy
Horizontal winds bring
Lullabies from heaven

This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states or alludes to withering wind (kogarashi).

I don’t look forward to the withering wind. It howls through my carport like a wind tunnel 😦

Certain cross streets here really funnel the wind. Best avoided on wild weather days.

Lovely winding wind.
I recently watched about some winter hikers in Russia who weren’t so lucky…
There is some debate on weather it was the wind or …soldiers. It was an old mystery that Josh Gates was trying to solve.

The wind is a force to be reckoned with, no matter the season. When you add subzero temps its treacherousness is boundless.
