tight, sticky lies, promised
forevers, extremes
designed to die, sigh.
Round seeds, sharp edges
Textured mirage, hybridized bait beckons,
“plant me!” (wrong zone) “plant me!” (no germ, no growth.)
Silken threads hold
seasoned seeds of promise;
to stay, hibernate,
safe in winter dreams —
or fly with zephyrs
traverse oceans, deserts, to parts unknown.
To alight, be consumed, dispersed — to grow.

Beautifully done Lisa. The photos are fabulous and add so much. I have these as well. I understand they are a variety of milkweed as you can see from the silky pods. They are very prolific! The come in pink also.

I love the duelling truthful realities. Reminds me to reexamine things when I see only the negative. It was marvelous to see you and hear your words for the first time this afternoon. I am always in awe of your writing.

Did you join the meeting after 4? I think the first group shut down after 60 minutes and a new group started up after that. Some of the people ended up in a different 2nd meeting group.

An interesting form, and it is shown off to perfection here, with your twists and turns of image that make us look deeper and think more cleanly about what we are seeing presented to us. I especially like that one section is dark and one bright, which is sonnet-like in the sense of the volta, and phrases like “tight sticky lies” are just excellent.
