When Love Finds You

breakup0217

Don’t ever go looking for love.
It might find you.
You can’t control who will bring it.
You can sacrifice yourself to it,
and maybe that’s ok.
Who is to say
what a life’s function should be?
Is what or who you might be
be enough to turn it away?
It means being left with its residue,
to be crying forever over sad songs.
It is a price you will pay
if you refuse to be its casualty;
still at half-life, a hollow shell
going through the motions.

  1. I love the wisdom in your words, Li. Love does make some people wary.

I spend several hours with my older son today. He’s on vacation this week and we had some errands to do. Yes, I am feeling better, thanks, Punam <3

  2. I guess love can be complicated and, yes, you can’t control it. On the other hand, it can only happen if somebody makes a move. That somebody might as well be you.

I hear you, Christian. I think you may be misunderstanding where I’m coming from. I’m still trying to recover from the last time “love found me.” I really am not interesting in having it find me again.

      1. I’m sorry, Lisa. And, yes, I definitely misunderstood you! Your evidently not so great past experience completely escaped me. Given that, I completely get your stance and hope you can get past these bad memories.

Love, even the same love, always has multiple manifestations, no doubt about it. (K)

Bottom line is, allow yourself to be open. It might hurt sometimes, yes; but you have to take that chance because the other end of the spectrum is, it can be fantastic and you wouldn’t know because of fear. Love your poem and collage!

Going through the motions is so hard to not do at times… love the picture also…I thought at first it was Lennon in the center.

What set it off to me was the purple window frame.
