Marcia continued rubbing her right buttock while waiting for the receipt and to make a follow-up appointment with the receptionist at the clinic. Her chart, under a pseudonym, was growing. She was too embarrassed to seek out testing and treatment from Dr. Bane, her and her husband, Charles’, primary care physician. Instead, she drove to the clinic in the next town over to get her shots and other fixes for the sexually transmitted infections Charles kept gifting her.
Sure enough, the shot and the creams cleared the latest mess up. Too bad clearing up the mess that was Charles wasn’t so easy. Of course, when confronted, he denied everything. He said either she was cheating on him or picked something up from a public toilet seat, always flipping it back onto her alleged immorality or carelessness.
Marcia slipped Charles’ company account Visa out of his wallet that morning before he left for work. She went to the best furniture store in town and charged a luxurious bedroom furniture set. It would be delivered by weekend. Her next stop was the locksmith, where she charged an installation of a double-bolt on the inside of the bedroom door. They could be out tomorrow to install. Then she headed to a small private investigation firm to start them trailing the filthy hound.
Charles called her as she was driving home.
“Marcia, did you take my company card?”
“No?”
“Seriously, did you?”
“Maybe you should have been more careful with it?”
She clicked disconnect.

Sounds dangerous to do all that to stay at the home…

May be, if he is a violent sort. If not, I would advise her to stay in the house and call the police if he tries anything.

Probably true. But giving him a huge credit card bill and locking him out of the house seems to be a good start!
As I started reading your story, I thought she had been hit on her behind. But what this guy did pretty much sounds just as bad to me!

The lock was only on the bedroom door — for now anyway. I used to work as a clerk at an STI clinic when I first started with the county. I remember seeing clients that got penicillin (or whatever it was) shots rubbing the injection site. Funny the things you remember over time :)

I am so very lucky to have a wonderful husband! I thought this only happened in novels etc. I had to google STI clinic. We really do learn something new every day.

Sadje, I do also. The guy has been begging for it! He’s lucky she is not the violent sort.

Yes, that would have reached him never to mess up with a woman again.
