Behold a shiny blossoming of faith,
upright, steadfast; unfettered golden pearl
that rests in earthly shell, from heaven’s lathe.
Behold the shiny blossoming of faith
in certainty, a place that lays no blame;
its form is manifested grace conferred.
Behold your shiny blossoming of faith,
upright, steadfast, unfettered golden pearl.
I thought of the People of Ukraine specifically when writing this one. Their faith is what keeps them going under such vicious attacks by a madman and those who follow him. I also think of the faith of the US population that a madman will not be re-elected as POTUS in 2024.

A beautifully crafted poem. Delicate, yet strongly worded. Wonderfully done.

A powerful triolet, Lisa, which makes good use of the rule of three in ‘upright, steadfast; unfettered’, repetition, and the juxtaposition of ‘earthly shell’ and ‘heaven’s lathe’.

Good grief, how can you make a triolet wieldy AND readable- but you did.

I still have faith that the four stalks in my garden that are the first sunflowers I ever planted will produce at least one sunflower. That would be so fun.

We have to have faith (that’s a good line for repetition) and I sure hope you’re right about the American people, faith that they won’t reelect a madman. I think of Ukrainians all the time.

We need all of it that we can get. If we could only eliminate the electoral college…

I agree with your sentiments entirely and it must be very worrying to contemplate the 2024 elections.

I hadn’t thought of the triolet as being rhetorical, but the repetition can work that way. Lovely imagery.

The repetitions due to form certainly work rhetorically too Lisa…

Beautiful triolet, Lisa. The repetition works well. This makes me want to try writing a triolet.
My thoughts are also with the Ukranians- an unnecessary war dragged on for no real reason except egos.

We are oft quick to blame fatih when things do not go to human plan. Even those who have chosen simplier less organized paths – seem to have some sense of faith that indeed those in need will be helps (by prayer and actiton) and that those who ought get karma… get it sooner than later!
It is unfortunate that ‘mad’ or ‘delusional’ people end up in power at all… surely it can not be to just test those who have ‘fatih’.
