Beautiful pics. And with these amazing peppers, I guess I shall call you Sgt. Pepper! :-)

I love the doe…the expression on her face. The flowers on that railing just pop out at you!

A lot of times as dusk is falling and it starts to cool off I go to close the back slider. There are deer out there many times. This was one of those times. They don’t seem real scared and if I’m careful they don’t leave. Yes those flowers really do pop!

We have deer also go into our backyard. A few years ago we had a three legged deer and saw it for years and years. I felt bad for it but it jumped our fence with no problem.
Nature is wonderful.

Oh wow on the 3 legged deer. I wonder if that deer on the beach could have been saved :(

This one looked natural…like it was born that way…but it adapted and I’ve seen 3 legged dogs do fine…horses not so much…

all so beautiful… Couldn’t help but think the petunias look like they have stars on them. 🤍✨

Hi, Li. You’re pretty good with the camera! That one of the moth makes it look like a creature from Godzilla!!
Hey, did you know George Saunders came out with new stories in 2022? I just bought it: it’s on sale right now for $2, lol.
Also…I’m in a six-week streak of Duolingo, btwo! So thanks for bringing that up. Hubby’s still doing it too, and he said his (very rusty) Spanish has improved GREATLY. And he’s actually learned how to spell a bunch of words he never knew, because his first language was Spanish, but it was just from speaking it at home. He didn’t formerly learn it. It’s been a great tutoring tool, so thank you, Li!

Hey Stacey! I was just thinking about you the other day and wondered whether “it” published (I am 99% sure you know what I’m talking about!) Is the G Saun for sale on amazon? Hard copy or e? So you are doing the duolingo along with hubby? Yo soy feliz que es ocurio (sp on last word.) I still do it every day also. I’m Jade Li on there, look me up and we can be duo buds :) I enjoy doing it daily, it makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something :)

Just snagged it. Thanks for the heads-up!

Oh, cool!! Glad you found it!
Yeah, I will look you up. I’m actually late doing my lesson today. Gotta get off here and do it, haha. I’ve been freelancing, and that takes up a lot of time. Thanks for asking about “it”! lol Oh my god, there’s a whole story, Li. So now “it” is kinda on hold at the moment. But I HAVE finished something else, a collaboration with hubby, which I’m very proud of. I’ll tell you about it soon.

AH! Cannot WAIT to hear about all of this, Stacey. Sounds so very exciting for you and hubby!!!!

Enjoyed seeing your garden. I have some dodads too.
And that spotted flower looks like the night stars fell on it!!

Isn’t it fun to walk around the garden and see what’s going on? I just used the trimmer around my 10 with hazel and like a fool cut the bark all the way around on one. I have read trees/shrubs can’t live after that but not sure. I know there were a few leaves below that so maybe it will live from that. I thought the same thing about the spotted petunia <3

Perhaps you can use some of that Flexseal tape around the cut bark area as sort of a bandaide? Or I think there is also a tar spray for when you cut branches… that is supposed to protect ‘open’ wood.
(PS Mailed your seeds today)

Haven’t heard of Flexseal. Will keep an eye on it. If it starts to droop will give it a try. YAY! on the seeds! Haven’t sent yours out yet.

PS: I recently missed a day, so my almost two-month streak in Duolingo is gone!!! lol I also looked you up, but I think I’m on too low a level or a different class or something to find you. It’s interesting, ’cause when I was learning Spanish in school, “bolsa” was purse, but they use a different word (which I can’t even remember now! I have a block!) and I don’t recall EVER using “disfruta” for “enjoy” and there’s a few others. So it’s kinda easy…but vocabulary has been a challenge!!! :)

Stacey, what’s your handle on duolingo? I’ll try to look you up. Do you “buy” those “streak save” gems so you don’t lose your streak? One thing I have learned with the Spanish language is that there is a Spain version and a Mexico version. Maybe you learned the Spain version in school? Cartera is the word duo uses for purse.
I have noticed they’ve made some changes I don’t like recently. One is that they have gone over to the “hearts” system on the PC where you start out with 5 hearts and every wrong answer you lose one and if you run out of hearts you have to buy more with your saved up gems. They also converted whatever I had to 5x of blue gems. I have about 19,000 now, which will last awhile, but at 450 gems per purchase of 5 hearts, not really that long. Bad move on duolingo’s part, as when I run out of gems, I’ll only do the lesson until the hearts run out. Not buying any subscription to it!

I’ll have to do another lesson to look afterwards on the list, ’cause I’m not sure what my handle is! It’s probably just my email address like it is here–too lazy to change it to a code word or something cute. Hubby reminded me about the gems buying the streak. Not sure if I can do it at this point……? I’ll check it out. But sorry to hear about the changes: I haven’t noticed ’cause I’m just too intent on getting in and out–just like it was back in the day in REAL school, lol. No, none of us are buying a subscription. Sorry! And totally think you’re right about the different countries. I think we learned a different set of words from Spain when we SHOULD have been learning from Mexico, since they’re RIGHT THERE, for god’s sake! haha.

I tried your email address and it didn’t work. Totally agreed on learning the Mexico Spanish! Someone I know encouraged me to learn the Spain Spanish because if I visited Spain and tried to use the Mexican Spanish they would laugh at me. Funk dat! They would be happy to see an American trying to speak their language, which I’m guessing most tourists don’t.

Right–cartera! Cartera! I just CAN’T remember it !!! lol

I’ve been at it for some years now and feel that I’ve probably gotten as far as I can in actually speaking it with duolingo, which isn’t far. I need to start trying to practice with others in actually speaking it. They have groups that meet up to do that but so far I haven’t gone that far.

Oh man, yeah, actually speaking it! lol My Achilles’ heel is the rapid speech. Still have to slow that sh** down in Duolingo when they let loose. I can usually get the end of the sentence, but they often run two or three words together at the start that I regularly miss, like “el” and “en” really fast. Also seems like “el” is used randomly with days of the week, and I’m not getting a clear memory of how I was taught that. I thought it was always “el” before the days, but sometimes you don’t have to use it. Oh, well. Still, it’s progress! And you could always watch some Spanish shows for a while to get used to listening and see how much you understand before you join a group… although I know you’re partial to groups. :)

As a matter of fact, I did just that last night. A thriller called, “Rendez-Vous” (Mexican made and filmed in Mexico) and I was listening and did understand much of what was being said!

Carol, I usually eat all of the produce, either fresh or canned. Always tasty as no poisons and it ripens naturally on the vine.
