PHOTO PROMPT © Ted Strutz (MIA but still snapping photos. ❤ You are missed, Ted!
Billyjoe learned early that wilding with his homies was preferable to Mama’s whiskey rages and leather straps. After puberty, he drank women down like Granny drank her ginger beer, thirstily and with gnawing in her belly afterwards.
Marshajean was her Daddy’s favorite from ages five to ten. When he started taking to her baby sister, she took a knife to him. He wrestled it away and tumbled her out into the street.
Billyjoe and Marshajean collided in the alley behind Mo’s Soup Kitchen on his twentieth birthday; they’ve been together since. Their two heads are spinning; but spinning in synch.

Wow, it sounds like Billyjoe and Marshajean had rough childhoods. At least they found and seemingly understand each other!

They understand enough. Thanks much, Christian, for being such a loyal reader. Much appreciated.

You’ve got some great imagery here. It reminds me of Rihanna’s We Found Love, just finding themselves in a hopeless place.

I’m glad you “got it,” Max. They may be outcasts to the rest of the world but to each other they are the world.

You’re the story weaver here, L. I can’t help but have a serial killer vibe. There have been a handful of killer couples.

Oh, they would definitely fit the type. Have you seen, “Natural Born Killers”? Olive Stone’s masterpiece of satire about Mickey and Mallory and their becoming cult heroes, sort of like Bonnie & Clyde.

I’ve had that on my to watch list. I know the gist and the opening scene. It might be time to track the film down. 😀

Very perceptive of you to pick up on that vibe. I think you’ll enjoy the movie, and you will if you have an appreciation for satire.

It’s a good thing when we can find someone whose head spins in synch with ours. And not easy to do. This was a good story and it would be fun to read more about Marshajean and Billyjoe.
