Diwali sand art at Meijer Gardens 121223

I met up with family at Meijer Gardens again on Tuesday (they are open late on Tuesdays.)  While there I snapped a shot of the Diwali sand art.

We walked out on the rooftop garden. Looks so different at night.

Another one on rooftop garden. Granddaughter with her Cookie Monster coat on, by a neat sculpture of a baby riding a horse.

Today was my 2nd visit back to the beauty spa for a massage.  SO happy I decided to go back.  The setting is so much better looking, smelling, sounding, etc.  And my new massage therapist is wonderful.  She knows how to work the knots out and I left there feeling rejuvenated.  Because it costs a bit more than the no-frills place/person I was going to, I’ll have to stretch the time out to 3 weeks between massages.  Well worth it.  Here are a few of the decorations they had set up.

I put my hand up there for scale on the giant evergreen cone. That thing is mega!

A massage is a great way to relax. I got a facial and neck one yesterday too.

Thanks. I had a stiff neck going in which I never mentioned to her but by the time I was done the stiffness was gone. 💖

Max, I took several pics of this sculpture before in daylight and it just doesn’t capture it’s coolness. I think this night pic does it more justice. Glad you like it also :)

It has to be at night…I agree…and that brick wall makes it even cooler.

Night seems the best time to visit this place. Lighting makes all the difference. Nice pics.

Phil, this is my 2nd night visit (since it gets dark at 5) and I think it’s more pretty at night also. Glad you like the pics.

Thank you, Christian. It really is but it is way too crowded right now for my taste. We’ve decided to wait to go again after the holidays are over.

      1. Sounds like a smart choice! Crowds definitely can add stress to something that should be enjoyable.

Were those decorations made by the masseuse? They are good with their hands :)

Glyn, I see her more as a creative repurposer. She finds the items here and there and combines them creatively.

I haven’t been for a massage in way too long. That pinecone was massive!

You are long overdue you’re right. Give yourself the gift of massage, it’s better than any vitamin for health. The pinecone had to come from out west. Trees don’t get big enough here for this sized cone.
