hungry
nested atop, myrtle spurge blooms
baby birds awake; faimed at noon,
sway, seeking sun’s warm respite from spring gusts

captivating
pear blossoms, tiny promises
hold garden strollers hostages
filling us with deep spring’s tranquility
◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

sound sleepers
tomato, pepper seeds planted
weeks ago; gift of life granted
seedlings’ blessed dreams under April’s full moon

note: in the seed tray, far left, is also a new dawn redwood seedling!
kigo:
myrtle spurge blooms, warm, spring gusts;
pear blossoms, deep spring, tranquility;
seeds planted, April’s full moon

Thanks, Steve. Yes it is. Things are about to get real busy.

Yes, my sweety is itching to get out there but it’s still too cold to disturb the gardens and sleeping pollinators.

Thanks so much, Eugi.
Also, I wanted to tell you I was unable to post on your last week’s poem at your blog. I tried at the blog directly and through news feed but couldn’t.

You’re welcome, Lisa. Thank you for letting me know you couldn’t post. I changed themes and perhaps, that had something to do with it.

I’ll keep trying. Maybe I’ll clear the cache on my computer and try this week and see what happens.

I love all the pics and see that you have it started well this year in that last pic.

Yep, I stayed within reason on the tomato plants. 10 seeds instead of 40 (that all sprouted!) last year. I bought a shredded coconut shell seed starter by mistake (Burpee, how could you!?) and fingers crossed the seedlings live. I don’t like that coconut crap.

I never heard of the coconut stuff…maybe it will work well!

No, it doesn’t usually. I experimented with it when it first came out and it didn’t end well.

Wonderful, Lisa.
I wanted to start my plants from seeds this year but somehow missed my window. Next year!

Thanks, Dale. I’ve got a close eye on them. Once they get 2nd set of leaves transplanting them out of that crappy coconut corr or whatever they call it. Truly horrible and bought by mistake.

I love seeing the seedlings sprout in spring. I can’t wait to follow your gardening adventures. I’m mowing the grass today. My peonies are up and I need to trim back the lavender.

Suzanne, glad you enjoyed the poems. The pear blossom pic here was taken at Meijer Gardens, but the pear tree in my back yard is now in bloom as well :)

Love all your little seedlings!

Thanks! They aren’t growing as well as I would like as I bought the wrong kind of seed starter, but they are transplanted into larger containers with real potting soil so should start to do better now.

You might remember last summer I put so much work into pumpkins and watermelons, and they all rotted.😭 Nature grows best on its own for sure.😅

Yes, I do. And yes, it does :) The grass is doing just fine on its own lol
