poster lifted from fmg website
As I promised, here are the pics from the bonsai show. All of them were taken by me, except for the last few, which were taken by “Anonymous,” aka my Daughter In-Law’s Father. He’s an excellent photographer, and the pics are used with his permission. I’ll have them as a separate slideshow at the end.
general shot. there were many rows on exhibit and many to buy
a miniature world — bonsai at fmg
everything was on gorgeous pedestals
3-trunks on one tray

boxwood tree bonsai
The next pics are from “Anonymous”
Amazing show, Lisa. Did not expect to see 50 and 75 year old trees…wow. These really are works of art and love combined. I liked the one shot of the “miniature” world…those “landscapes” under the trees are prime real estate for some cute creatures to inhabit.😊

Bruce they had trees over 100 years there! Yes, they are living works of art. I admire anyone who has the patience (and longevity) for it! Of the trees for sale, they had one for $11,000!

I had a bonsai tree before…it was hard to care for…but I loved it.
I love the boxwood tree.

I wish there were a shorter word for daughter in law’s father, but I haven’t come up with it. I became interested in bonsai in my 20s but was discouraged by the idea that they took so long. 50 years later, duh.

In business code, he would be DILFA. I bought a tiny “pre-made” one for a few dollars at the department store, and it lived for years, but this takes things to a whole new level. These trees came in for the exhibit and to sell, but the gardens has a whole collection that they put out in nice weather.

Wow! I didn’t know such a show existed. The trees sure are beautiful, even with all the work it may take to keep them looking great.
