We missed our weekly Tuesday rendezvous yesterday but I just got invited to take a trip to the zoo. I’m not a big fan of zoos, but I am a big fan of spending time with the fam, so away I go. Will get back to the blogging later. Hoping to bring back some pics.

Have a great time! I love animals…and we just got a prairie dog yesterday….our private “zoo” is at it’s limit. We can’t take in anymore lol.

Awesome, Max! Do you have the bearded dragon now also? Wasn’t sure whether you brought Rocky home already or picking him/her up when you go back? Just get into a routine with them and they (and you) will be fine.

Oh yes…. we have had Rocky home….I made a post that I’ll publish soon when I get some better pictures. He came home in the van with me when I came back from Atlanta. We are getting Trudie (the prairie dog) a bigger place and we will be set.
The zoo is full now!

I saw some cool wire climbing tubes for several of the animals at the zoo. If Rocky likes to climb they might work for a home zoo.

I’m still trying to figure him out….the prairie dog I know because I’ve been around the other….but I’ve never had reptile before except turtles. He is not shy really at all. I still haven’t picked him up. I was waiting for him to get comfortable with us. I don’t like rushing animals….Trudie on the other hand…will jump on your lap lol.

I’d be way more scared of the prairie dog than the lizard. Lizards don’t have big sharp teeth. You are wise to take it slow with them.

More than anything….I want him to become comfortable with me and not just pick him up. He is getting there. Yea….if a prairie dog is not socialized…Trudie is…but if they are not….oh yea…it feels like a vice is on you if they bite.
Theo and Trudie love to nibble but don’t hurt…they have never bit.

A snapping turtle the size of a Buick is much scarier than a bear… have fun at the zoo.

:) This one was a peach. I happened upon her on the bike trail on an 85F day and gave her a bottle full of water. Thanks, we had a grand time at the zoo. Saw only one turtle, at a distance, floating in the monkey island moat, but did see 3 tortoises.

We should have a zoo in our city. The nearest one is 20 mile away

20 miles isn’t that far. This one is 50 miles from here and one of the few in the whole state.

We’ve had sporatic rains… it has just started again! It isn’t suppose to last long either. But anything is better than nothing!
