POPO2024 Day 26

26

My lawn has become c(l)overed.
Theories vary:
--longer times between mows
--plants adapted to grow low
--the extreme heat and rain.
First was Spring’s dandelionization.
Pollinators continue rejoicing.

Mine is about 1/3 covered with shamrocks! So strange. Especially in areas where hot hot water escapes from the drainage of my pool. (My pool is fed by volcanic underground streams…how exotic is that? I’ll take photos…Actually, we’ve had a rainy season that won’t quit as well..My lawn further exoticized by cutworms that the doggies dig up and eat like earth oysters.

Judy, you sure can tell you’re not in Kansas anymore by this comment. Yes, I would like to see the photos of that. Now I know why you have your herd of doggies. Imagine if those worms all matured. YUK! Our “rainy season” lasted one day. I hope it doesn’t go weeks like last time before it rains again.

I spent many hours as a child looking for 4-leaf clovers. I found some too. (K)

Four leaf clovers are supposed to be rare, but I was watching some video where this one area it was three leaf clovers that were rare.

I know someone who is lucky at finding the four leaf ones amidst the threers… and even gave her daughter the middle name of clover since she found at least two while pregnant with the child.

Oh that is so cool, Jules. I can imagine if the 4-leafed plants had a chance to get a foothold it would flip the script. I’ve found one that I can remember but there may have been more. I can see why clover would be the child’s middle name. What a delight. A lucky child indeed <3
