slice and dice:
sometimes death is a good thing

oh to fillet feelings
dissect them,
partition away perspectives,
excise egoic entanglements
with danger triggers,
eliminate engagement,
terminate tindrs,
unhook from
club drugs

Maria L Berg is the host of Writober. Maria says:

Maria, thank you. I started my spreadsheet and journal for this month-long journey. You put a lot of work into this!

I cringed when I saw the slice and dice part because now that I’m 78 I guess I have to resort to the fact that my hands with arthritis are just not going to ever be as reliable as they used to be. Those facts are hard to get through your head, even though you know, what you know, it’s hard to accept. But I sliced my index finger on my left hand using a potato peeler. Apparently my finger was in the wrong spot as I was vigorously peeling a baking potato. I was going to write about it on here as I do most things. I kind of use my blog as a diary maybe too bad for all the readers.😂😂

Cheryl, I appreciate your sharing your age/level of wisdom. I also am struggling with arthritis in a couple of fingers. The “mouse roller finger” is locking up more and more, and it hurts more and more to unlock it. I remember my grandma’s fingers got locked into place and looked more like claws towards the end. It didn’t stop her from getting what needed to be done done.

Yipes! on slicing your index finger! Hope you are keeping it clean, dry, and antibiotic’ed. I understand about the journal. We write ourselves with every word.
They have technology now where you can speak and it will type for you. Writers need to write, be it written or spoken. Take it easy, my friend.

It was a distillation after going through all of the exercises. I learned something from them and glad the poem made at least a little sense. Thank you, Nancy.
