TankaTuesday Poetry Challenge — Paradise (tanka puente)

eden apple

Paradise

gold light envelops
pulses flesh in its rightness
patience rewarded
oblivious beyond heat
inevitable ashes

~Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it.~

reality rise
like bile from a sucker punch
curled in a sick bed
tear-soaked pillow, remembers
only the shiny apple

Bridge quote is from Chuck Palahniuk, from his novel, “Choke.” Chuck’s new book, “Shock Induction” is out as of yesterday. YAY! I already have my copy but trying to find some time to read it isn’t easy.

I liked writing to Robbie’s tanka puente so much last week, I’m writing another one today.

Sadje is today’s host of TankaTuesday Challenge.  Sadje says:

So I’d like you to write a syllabic poem about something that brought a big change in your life.

Thanks, Colleen. I’m working on tanka submissions this weekend. One is almost finished. Question: will there be illustrations/images in the journal?

      1. I can add images but they won’t be in color in the print version. Maybe, next year, we will look at pricing for the print books. (I haven’t decided if we have offer this journal on kindle).
