lanturne form series
I am today’s host for TankaTuesday. Today’s challenge is to write syllabic poetry using at least 3 of the given words.

Suddenly, I’m thinking of Easter. 🤓

I love the fairy on the hare/rabbit! And the poem encouraging us to wait and listen for fluttered wings. Fairies or moths? Who knows!

Lisa, depends on which lens we look through ;) Glad you liked that tiny creature.

Hi Lisa, what a cool form. I must try this. A delightful poem.

Robbie, thank you. Each lanturne is supposed to look like a … lantern, which I thought would be cool for the ones watching the fairies :)

Wouldn’t you love to happen upon such a scene. But then again… have you seen Radiohead’s video for, “There There”? So good but so creepy!

An elder neibhbor had a fairy garden in her front yard… after she moved…the new owners took out all the greenery and trees in the front… *sigh*.
Cute pic.

And of course there are no local ordinances protecting the non-human life, like trees and such. MAKES ME SICK! I just found out a neighbor down the road that was selling 40 acres got it bought and now it’s being split into 5-acre parcels. Let’s just go ahead and say 8 new homes will be joining us in the next few years. Nice vacant, wooded property will first be cleared, bulldozed, a McMansion built and sterile green sod laid over the grave of the land.

Ugh. Hubby was talking to someone today who mentioned that 30 years ago our town had quite a bit more open space. Now you are correct McMansions or appartments that no one can afford. The person he was speaking to says they pay about 1,800 a month for a studio apartment. Crazy.

How can people afford that much for so little? I was just reading on fb about a new ordinance in our county about limiting the % of short-term rentals, which I heartily approve of. I also wish they would implement limiting the % of landlord rentals in general. Too many landlords out there that can extort $$ out of renters without any recourse for the renters. Every person has the right to their own home. Certainly doesn’t have to be a McMansion, just the basics.

I read about a land reuse area where the gent/company? is creating homes out of shipping containers (especially for low cost homes). Reclaiming the land and giving folks a chance to have their own space.

I’ve seen pics of shipping container homes. A small restaurant downtown is built from them. I love the idea of repurposing and a sensible scale so people are not enslaved to paying landLORDs for the rest of their lives. Honestly not much as changed from feudalism days, just in another form.
