When garden guests
have long gone and
into cold winter night
When all is quiet
but for fountain-
gurgled splashes,
could you but spy
you’d see them flit,
wee beasties with
sparkle-trailed wings
riding orchid’s backs.
They rise and race
to frilly cheers heard
only by earthworm ears.

Each card an awkward
aspect of love’s alphabet
in retrospect, safely tucked
in its vintage array.
Yet pause a moment
and let them play again
in your heart that has not
quite yet turned to stone.

The first pic is from fmg a couple of weeks back, taken as we strolled through the Victorian indoor garden. Same place the video of the heron fountain not long ago. The last three are from the library where my granddaughter goes for story time.
Hope you each enjoy your Valentines Day!

Those Valentines are great. They have a corny sincerity that the world completely lacks right now. (K)

You betcha — I didn’t spend much time on getting goodies together this year, but I’ll be back on the hunt next year.
