Thank you for sharing these works, Li. Journalists often cover topics with heavy emotional weight though it must have been particularly tough for Clark to report on atrocities against her relations, her community.

Canada has a similarly shameful legacy through the Indian Residential Schools system. Reconciliation (I think the US calls that reparations) is slow. I’ve gone into the issue a few times, including on this post: https://songoftheday.ca/2021/06/29/golden-feather/

Steve, *thank*you* so much for sharing your link teeming with a horrific truth that many would prefer not to acknowledge. I knew Robbie had lived/visited his family on “The Res” but did not know his father was Jewish. I’m very interested in the Coursera class you took. I’ve seen Coursera but haven’t taken a class through it yet. This may be the first one.

Thanks also for the share of the music. It’s mellow and very deep, like a cool fresh water lake on a windless morning.

It’s a terrible legacy, which we have yet to fully acknowledge, let alone atone for. (K)

You’re welcome, Li. We have to keep repeating the truth until is addressed.

I highly recommend the course. The University of Alberta offers it for free. The Coursera platform is good to work with, too. The course includes some beautiful artwork. Reach out if you can’t find it.

My pleasure, re: the music, I hope you liked it.

Sadly it is the same here, the colonial venture was/is cruel.
