I really like this song (Hit The Ground)…her voice and that music. It has a Van Morrison and Band background feel. Of course I like Sweet Feeling with the blues feel.

I like both songs and the videos. In the club you can see she’s feeling it and emanating her energy outward.

She sings by feel which I love…some singers just sing words off of a page or memory….but she does it the right way like Springsteen and others.

I’ve got her “Salt” album but, like so many bought over the years, haven’t listened to it much.

A new artist for me as well; I love the depth of soul maturity in her voice and the quality of the musical arrangements.

Steve, I like your assessment. She has a maturity beyond her years.

Lizz Wright who is entirely new to me sounds really good. REALLY GOOD! It’s just amazing how many talented female artists (and male artists for that matter) are out there we’ve never heard of before.

Oh I know, Christian. I have more than 2 years on my waiting list, and the list grows every day.

Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful voice. I can’t believe she’s not more well-known. (K)

Yes, I’m surprised also. That said, I was just writing up a post on Ariana Grande and included a YT of her and Cynthia Erivo. I covered Cynthia last year and said something to the effect she isn’t a superstar yet… and then Wicked happened!
