Jazz is a genre I often trip over and skin my knees on but I appreciate the fusion aspects Spalding used in this piece. Another new artist for me, thanks, Li.

She really uses her voice like a musical instrument. I like some of her stuff, not my favorite style, but she does what she does very well. Great quote. (K)

Ok…a female stand up bass player…again new to me and cool. Personally, I think the bass is the hardest instrument to play while singing…especially jazz. It’s like doing a solo on the guitar…while singing. Great voice to boot and more importantly…great feel.

  4. While I had heard her name before, I didn’t know anything about Esperanza Spalding. A female jazz bassist is something you don’t see often. She has a great voice as well! And how about all her awards? Quite impressive!
