Green Thumbs
Young Horatio left his job in Lush Valley because Lady Jane brushed her boom-bas up against him one too many times. At dawn in early fall, he filled the panniers with work and other clothes, his shaving kit, a dozen oatmeal cookies he pilfered from the main kitchen, and a bottle of wine from the cellar, hopped on his bike and headed out on the cobblestone road.
Castle Lemond was pleased to hear he’d been a gardener in Lush Valley and offered him a job.
“We need someone who has the kind of thumbs that can green up the place.”
[100 words]

Let’s hope they don’t hear about the boombas or the pilfering

Nicely done – and the place does look like it could use a gardener.

Thanks, V. The first thing I thought was how little green and it needed one.

Well, the other week I wrote about a villainous new male employer so I had to give fair time to a villainous female employer. I’m imagining Lady Jane as some old bored bat exploiting a young guy just trying to do his job.

Hmm…boom-bas is a new one for me. I’m glad he escaped this sexual harassment (with cookies, even!).

:) It’s a new one for me also, Liam. It just happened. And yes. He had a little easier time of it than my heroine from a week or so ago.

Dear Lisa,
I wonder if he won’t miss the boom-bas? ;) I’m not sure he or his sticky green thumbs should be trusted. Fun stuff.

Rochelle, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the Young Man. I think Lady Jane will miss him more than he will miss her.

Plaridel, from the looks of that place, he doesn’t have a lot to work with. Hopefully his new employers will keep their body parts off of him!

Great tone here, Lisa. Green thumbs are always a marketable skill, so good for him for going somewhere better. Nice to see the roles switched from the normal harassment dynamic, though equally bad.

I am sure Lady Jane will find a more suitable gardener. Well boom-bas have needs, and he doesn’t seem like a keeper.

James, I am loving hearing the perceptions of the situation from everyone. You’ve heard the expression there is no view without a viewer. Thank you for being a faithful reader and commenter. It is appreciated.

Hope his ‘green thumbs’ do well by him.
Some folks just don’t know when to leave ‘the help’ alone, do they?

I hope he greens that grim looking place up. And no, they don’t.

Hopefully, they won’t be seeking references. She might be wanting his ‘green thumbs’ back.
