Dverse – MTB Thursday – [untitled] cherita form

After July’s drought

two days of solid rain
muds yesterday’s dust;

toads leap and chirp,
spiderwort splays,
tomorrow arises.

Cherita form

Merril is today’s for dVerse’ Meeting the Bar Thursday. Merril says:
Write a cherita in either 1-2-3 form or 3-2-1 form
OR write a double cherita where the second part mirrors the first:
1-2-3 then 3-2-1, as we did for Laura’s prompt.

    I love the image and cherita combo, Lisa! I would love to see toads leaping and chirping, but apparently that occurs in aggressive encounters between males! Just like human men…

      Thanks much, Kim. These little toads are too small for such things (see my earlier doodads post) but maybe they are simply happy? Or maybe I just imagined their chirps…

    I noticed that in this form the imagery is as intense as in haiku…as is so much here…very nice, bursting with sights and sounds.
