Everything is still blooming beautifully here and there in Michigan. On Tuesday we met up at fmg. On Wednesday I met up downtown with a friend and took a drive by the Monet Garden afterwards and nabbed a few pics. Still having fish food in the car for the fmg koi, I grabbed a handful and threw it in for the hungry fishies. There are a few other stray pics in here. This is a slide show. Look for the arrow to the right of the first image.
Video of fish gathering to eat the food I put in. At the end you’ll hear me say, “hi” to a man who walked over from the sidewalk. He just stood there checking out what they were eating. He never said a word.

Very nice! I had a friend who had a pond with fish and he fed them dog food!

Dwight, I have watched Ohio Fish Rescue YouTube channel long enough to know ponds like that are a royal pain to have and maintain. You risk ending up with too many fish for the space or they attract fish predators (herons, raccoons, etc.) that will eat them. I imagine dog food has all of the nutrition they need.

There were a lot of fish in that pond as I recall!

They get calls from people who need their koi removed because there are too many. They have an indoor swimming pool full of monster fish, who live together peacefully for the most part.

Very nice pix, Lisa. I went Medieval on my Christmas cactus a few months ago and it’s starting to look good now. Maybe blossoms this year?

I’m just glad it is alive and thriving. Those mosquito bits work like a charm in keeping fungus gnats away. Highly recommend them. I am almost positive it will have many blossoms on it. Even when they were little before being put in one pot they bloomed.

I haven’t seen a Christmas cactus since I divorced my first husband in 1986! Oh, his mother had a gorgeous one! Yours looks well on the way!

Ooh, sorry to remind you of an x and a mother in-law. The plants have at least tripled in size over the past few months. The mosquito bits keep the fungus gnats away from it.

Beautiful! While I’m admittedly not into gardening, I do enjoy looking at plants. There’s just something relaxing about it!

Thanks, Colleen. These have bloomed at different times. Will see what happens now that they have been put in a proper pot.

I told my husband that I should try and grow an indoor garden. We have south and west facing windows, lots of sun. I don’t know. I might give it a try.

Grow lights are also easily available/affordable to supplement light for it.

So spirit-lifting, all that nature blooming.
Youngest daughter still loves koi ponds. She always wanted one (along with a pony and a razor scooter…) We always visit the one at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, where we actually haven’t been in quite awhile. (K)

Happy the pics lift your spirit. Visiting a pond is the best way to experience it, imo lol. Do you think you and she could make a visit to the BBG soon? I hope you do and share pics.

We should go. The problem is they mess up the subways on the weekends, which makes it hard to get there. But one of these days…

Lisa, what is that second picture in the slide show? The one that looks like a snowball bush but I don’t think it is.
Also I love the evergreen plant that looks like a space alien! My brother in law has a small fish pond and I love feeding the Koi fish.

hydrangea and yes they do. I’m not sure where they got the idea for those space aliens. probably saw the frame in a catalogue. Speaking of space aliens, did you see where they tried to shoot one down the other day? I love seeing the fish swirl and ripple the water when they are being fed.

I love watching the fish in my aquarium.

I would like to get another aquarium. We had a saltwater tank at one time…loved it but it’s so hard to maintain.
