A memoir
Her silhouette and cane familiar from the back,
a lady of many social and creative talents
put here, today of all days. Interrupt convo,
possibly being rude to both, to smile, say hi;
you would have seen the room light up then.
After our brief reunion before joining fitness class
cheery updates that end with an invitation back,
convincing me dream group hiatus needs slack.
I haven’t seen her at fitness club since. When
dreamstormers meet up next, there she is,
extending her lively grace, from her usual space
next to our fearless, marker-wielding leader.
Time is relative. Who floats between wake and
sleep to see may travel every path at all’s will.
I’ve been on hiatus from a dream group for a year or so. Today’s poem is about how I rejoined it. They say truth is stranger than fiction. It is.
Punam is today’s host of dVerse’ Tuesday Poetics. Punam says: for today’s Poetics, we will try to make this Tuesday a happy Tuesday. I am sharing titles of some books. You can incorporate one or as many as you like in your poem.
I chose this one and wrote an acrostic poem with it:
2. Happy Accidents: A memoir by Jane Lynch
top image is based on a dream I had

I remember you mentioning the dream group, after which I looked for one in my area, but there isn’t one. I’m glad you’ve re-joined, Lisa, as I know it makes you happy.

Kim, necessity may be the mother of invention for you. You could start one in your area. I am happy about it. At the same time, the break was needed at the time. It was my first time there — ever — and seeing her there was serendipity at its best.

A wonderful acrostic, Li! I know you enjoyed being part of the group, so happy for you that you have rejoined. And yes, life can certainly be stranger than fiction as your poem illustrates. Thank you. 😊

Dreamstormers…I love what that conjures. Serendipity is a magic thing. And trees are always magic, dreaming or awake. (K)

I called it that the other day when thinking of the process we use in group. Yes, it is! In the tarot book I’m reading it talks about an upside down tree, with the roots in heaven.

Hi Lisa, I am not sure I follow this one. Is it a dream or are you talking about your dream group?

I’m talking about running into a lady from dream group at the fitness center, who invited me to come back to the dream group. The image is from a dream I had a few years back.

Hi Lisa, nice to be back here visiting my “Psych TV” pal. I had to Google dream group because I had never heard of the phrase. Very interesting. I would be down with joining one as it sounds really cool, but I recall so few of my dreams I’m not sure I’d be a great candidate or contributor. Dream Weaver compliments the post nicely. Dream on!

Hey Bruce! Glad to see you back. Yes, still thankful you brought Psych to my attention. It’s a series I’d like to buy and rewatch at will. With the dream recall you can cultivate it in several ways. Magic happens with dreamstorming, like a rainbow after a good rain.
