surrogates
I’m learning handy skills,
one YouTube video at a time.
They have become our wise
elders that we climb
keys to reach; surrogates
for distracted parents and
nursing-homed grandparents.
You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.
This is relatable to me. We are the sandwich generation.

Good name for it. Back when I was a kid, we had a family dinner where everyone sat around the table.

My family still does this every night

Good for you and your family on keeping tradition alive in this regard, Robbie. Someone has to!

I think I write or say the word YouTube every single day. I bet there’s a video on how to cure that. You’re thought provoking as always Lisa!

Randy, thanks so much. Doing poems separately from postcards, the challenge has been to find the closest matches to each other. This card seemed like a good match for the poem. I know what you mean about YouTube. I’m kind of wondering why bozo hasn’t gone after it up to now.

Older daughter always uses a YouTube video to parallel park. It works, too.
Got your Matisse card today–thanks! (K)

I admire your daughter for being able to do that via YT. I just avoid parallel parking. With my bike rack on the back probably impossible.
Glad you got the card. I picked one that you might actually be able to see in the flesh. You are welcome.
