Help(ed)
Someone blinked neon green
help at me
through atrium window one night.
How the tiny prisoner came to be
trapped doesn’t matter
only that they needed release.
One jar and paper towel later
she blinked
thanks at me
then away, into ink.

You had me with the first line… “Someone blinked neon green”

I interpreted the flashing as Morse code for help :) Thanks, Robbie.

I like the connection to the postcard where it and your poem are released.

Aaron, I appreciate your p.o.v. on it; hadn’t considered that aspect :)

Kerfe, I listened to that album earlier this week. Indeed! “A bird in a gilded cage is all some people will ever be.”

I try and save spiders, moths and butterflies…. even some ladybugs that find their way inside… I hope your friend helped to pollinate something while they were visiting. :)

Jules, I do try to save most bugs. Ants are an exception. I must have been tormented by an ant in a previous life…

I’m not a fan of ants either.
