You have reached a quiet bamboo grove, where you will find an eclectic mix of nature, music, writing, and other creative arts. Tao-Talk is curated by a philosophical daoist who has thrown the net away.
I’ve started to see tribes team up with environmental protection groups and prevail again and again. They were going to kill many many trees up north to build a bike path through precious land and it stopped them. I love bike paths, but not when they destroy habitat in a massive scale like they planned to. We may think earth is our playground but it is habitat for myriad creatures. Have you see those pathways that have been built over highways? I wish they were mandatory for all major highways.
No I haven’t seen the bike paths over highways.
Ours down here…is through the woods but they were smart…they used a pre existing railroad track that had been there since the 1950s…they tore the track up and made a narrow walk way…but left a bridge that a track was going over. So they didn’t destroy anything making it.
I hit a doberman once, but that is another kettle of fish. It was in the middle of the night on a pitch black stretch of a two-way highway and I was going fast. Didn’t have time to brake. Still feel bad about it but nothing I could do. It killed the dog instantly.
I’m glad they won!

here’s a pic of one:

Here is a story about the trail up north:

Rails to Trails is what a lot of them are here also.

That is really cool. I’ve never seen that before which is odd to me.

p.s. I should have said wildlife pathways over highways, so the critters can get where they need to go and not be killed by motor vehicles.

I agree with that 100 percent. I hit a rabbit on a back road one time… I felt bad for weeks. I went back to check on it but luckily it didn’t suffer.
