Yes, so many things make up this year, and most of them bad. I was thinking of this song, too, or the Billy Joel song “We Didn’t Start the Fire”. :)

That one fits well, Barbara!

As soon as I read your title, the song by Zager and Evans popped into my head, Lisa! I love that you wrote a stanza for each month of 2025. I must admit, I couldn’t remember much about this year but can’t say I envy your memories of it.

I wanted to find a good thing and a bad thing about every month but this is what I ended up with. It’s been a sh*t show all year afai am concerned. One bright spot was Mamdani’s election to Mayor of NYC.

Dwight, thanks. I tried to do a global highlights that pulled political and environmental into it. I would like to do another one with more positive, micro aspects.

Sadje, every list I found focused mostly on bad things. I really need to do another one with mostly good things.

When is the bottom reached

Isn’t it strange that this year packed in more horror than healing! I like how you summarised each month. One can only hope that we have touched the bottom and now the only way to go is go up!

Yes, it is. We seem to be hurling towards the bottom, don’t we. Yes, let’s hope upward begins soon.

With an emphasis on freak, and not the good kind. My older son and I were talking on the drive over to GR about doofus and his cabinet of freaks.

I would change America/American to USA. Technically Pope Francis is American 🙂
I didn’t know about Daltry being knighted. Not really important in my world but it is kinda fun to see the rebels being rewarded!
