Besties: Forever or Until Death
The necklaces came onto the market quietly. Jack purchased one for Peach, his mistress. He told her to never wear it outside. And she didn’t. She did, however, invite Cherry, her best friend, and Dev’s mistress, in for tea. When Cherry saw how it gleamed like ice diamonds, she whined and wheedled until Dev bought her one.
The ladies didn’t know that Jack and Dev’s wives were also best friends – and witches. The enchanted necklaces sapped — and transferred — a year’s life each day worn. By year’s end, Peach and Cherry were dead; the wives looked positively radiant!

Thanks, Sadje! After reading a couple of the other comments, I’m thinking of writing a part 2 to show the husbands being held accountable.

It just goes to show you how much it is buyer beware when it comes to purchasing jewelry. Ya never know for sure how “real” it is…good one, Lisa!

lol for sure, Bruce. This jewelry was perhaps a little too real.

And the moral of the story is don’t be this guy’s mistress.

In part 2 you’ll see that the moral is don’t be this guy. Thanks for reading and your comment.

I admit to being a bit naughty during the early days of my marriage. My ‘bit-on-the-side’ was named after a fruit too, and she seems to have disappeared. I wonder….

Dear Lisa,
Now there’s one way to level the playing field…or, rather, clear it. Clever wives. Clever you.

Oooo clever revengeful Witches. Though it sounds like the men need that spell cast in them more than the women perhaps
