John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, MI

Squirrels and chipmunks are the unofficial mascots of the place.  I thought this bin-robbing squirrel was hilarious. According to their website, the zoo has existed since 1891.  I went there as a child and as a young adult, and my kids have gone there on school field trips, but it’s been a good 30 years…

We missed our weekly Tuesday rendezvous yesterday but I just got invited to take a trip to the zoo.  I’m not a big fan of zoos, but I am a big fan of spending time with the fam, so away I go.  Will get back to the blogging later.  Hoping to bring back some pics….

The third and final prickly pear cactus blossom.  Looks like there might be three pears to harvest this year. Also, there is a new resident living in the carport.  Came out one day and she was resting on the car window.  I shooed her away.  She stayed.
