POPO2023 Day 30

Georges Seurat, “The Bank of the Seine” Each morning I make my way to the water. Sun climbs above trees on the far bank as locals fill in spaces on knolls and in and upon the river. Strangers to each other, yet all comfortable in our appreciation of nature’s welcome.

POPO2023 Day 27

George Seurat, “Circus Sideshow” Shadows’ dark treasures glimmer far from light of day, confined to damp caverns of morbid lust; where polite gentlemen slink, to thrust their filthy minds, swine before pearls.

POPO2023 Day 26

POPO2023 Day 17

Georges Seurat, “The Circus” Killing Blackbirds Small black-feathered bodies plummet one by one; bb gun begins at dawn. Seeing their comrades fall does not deter; their gluttony of suet continues. Cardinals and chickadees watch and wait. Note:  this is a fiction/fantasy.  No blackbirds were harmed.

POPO2023 Day 16

(misidentified on the postcard) Georges Seurat, “Chahut” First, a sour dinner experience; then, a walk across the street to the symphony. Full house, full stage, season finale. Quantity is not quality. Program’s long list of benefactors smile, oblivious. The conductor smiles bravely.
