I was Townes VanZandt’s girlfriend!

I went to bed late last night and I slept very deeply.  I do wake up at least once a night to hit the can.  As I woke for my pit stop, it was in the middle of a dream I was devastated to end.  You see, in it, I was Townes VanZandt’s girlfriend!  In the dream, he was dressed all in black.  He and I “went visiting” and he introduced me to people he knew all over the place.  I remember vividly him talking but most of it was not remembered.  What I do remember is when he walked up to me and said, “No more drinking for me.  I signed a contract.”  At the same time he was in a cloud of white marijuana smoke.  In the dream I felt he had a genuine affection for me.  What a dream.

Several years ago I walked a labyrinth that had been set up at a local community college gym.  It was lit by candle and a drum group was drumming.  At certain points along the walk there were energy surges (hard to explain).  It was a memorable experience.

A year or so ago, I remembered the experience and decided to see if there were any labyrinths in the area.  I found one that opens only 4 times a year at a church.  I also discovered there is one not that far away that is open to the public all year.  I took the drive and reverently did the walk.  During it, Townes VanZandt spoke to me and said just one thing:  “Don’t judge.”

In the dream analysis class I’m taking right now, we are learning about archetypes and how they symbolize things from our collective unconscious.  There are also personal archetypes that have significance only to the dreamer.  I see now that Townes VanZandt is one of my personal archetypes.  It will take some time to see what he represents for me.

another favorite.  love the backup musicians on this one.  really lend that mournful atmosphere:

Ha, dreams! I have had some that were interesting. Most times, I only remember I dreamt, not what the dream was about.

If you want to remember your dreams, start thinking about remembering them as you do your bedtime routine. Have a pad of paper and pen by the bedside. It works!

Yes, I know. At the moment, I wake up, then slide back into sleep, which isn’t exactly condusive to remembering anything either 😉
Maybe I’m not finding it important enough for now? We’ll see!

What a great songwriter he was…

I dreamed I hung out with Keith Moon around a year ago. Most of my dreams are not vivid but that one was…

It was an opening of a club…in the parking lot and there he was laughing…in the crowd I heard someone say … “You traveled into a worm hole through space and time and all you brought back was Keith Moon?”
I blogged about it the next day or I knew I would forget…It was over after that. Where it came from I don’t know.
