Recently, when I did the collage for Janis Joplin saving the day in my Manifestation story, I also created this collage.  There was nothing particular in mind while searching through the boxes of cutout images, other than wanting it to have a dream-like quality to it.

Then, yesterday, I read dverse prompt Meet the bar creating Metaphor and tried to follow the instructions.  Today’s offering is a product of the prompt.  Not sure if it is a metaphor or not?  But I do like it!  I then thought that the collage would go perfectly with it.

 

my soft flannel sheets are

are both fitted and flat

then cotton mesh blankets

with comforter o’er that

no less than three pillows

for head, knees, and hugging

and heating pad under

for pain that is bugging

I go through the checklist

see if everything’s there

I turn off the light, then

it is time for my prayers

curled into my caveship

removes all distractions

for my dreamland trips full

of psyche’s transactions

always new horizons

gathering here and there

symbols, signs, and icons

locations dark and fair

morning calls me homeward

I exit from the cave

and empty my treasures

upon the waiting page

pieces of a puzzle

their meanings meant for me

filling in some blanks of

this sweet life’s mysteries
