Kristian is the host of this week’s 50-word-Thursday. Kristian and Teresa alternate hosting this weekly challenge. Today’s story had to contain the following phrase:
‘Although it was a simple thing to be doing, something strange was happening.’ from Paulo Coelho’s The Valkyries
At 10 p.m. on Monday night Jack was watching a movie, “Close Encounters”. The cat was asleep on his lap. Suddenly she jumped up and ran to the door. He looked over and saw a white envelope on the floor. Opening the door and looking outside, he saw no evidence of footprints in the new fallen snow. He ripped open the envelope and read: “Meet me at Pine Park entrance at midnight. It’s important.”
He texted his girlfriend, Jill, and asked if it was her. She said no. He asked if she wanted to go with him at midnight to the park. She said yes.
As they drove to the park, he thought, although it was a simple thing to be doing, something strange was happening, as the closer they got to the park, the lighter the sky was getting, almost as if night was breaking into dawn. Once they rounded the curve, they realized the light was from spheroid object the size of a football field.
Terrified, they swerved to turn around but their paths were blocked by four large dog-shaped creatures standing on their back legs. One of the “dog-men” barked but in his mind Jack felt the words, “We need you to come with us, as the survival of your species on Earth is at stake.” Jack, thinking he must be dreaming, looked over at Jill and said, “What do you think?” Her mouth opened but no words came out. All she could do was nod yes.

I always thought I might like to be able to communicate telepathically –
But in truth it takes a ton of energy – as I knew someone who claimed the ability.
I was warned not to touch them when they were in a trance like state – in communication with another.
I got close but did not touch – and I could feel the heat energy emanating from them.
Perhaps in time, that energy could be tamed and controlled as to be more of an easy and less demanding skill of time?
How many of us would save our planet via such an invitation and experience? Hoping Jack and Jill succeed – perhaps they already did ;)

Thank you for your thoughts. I think one day we will be able to communicate like this even if we have to have electronic help (they are diligently working on game controllers that move by thought). If Jack and Jill save us, maybe there will be enough time to see it in action.
