Prompt
Write a story, tale or poem about a day in the life of cupid.
By mid-January, Cupid’s organizational skills kicked into high gear. Not only was there all of those candy hearts to hand-stamp with sayings, there was a massive card production going on for over a billion cards that would be purchased and given to valentines across the globe.
In Cupid’s special workshop, he was overseeing the assembly line production of his arrows. Mars, Cupid’s father, had shown him how to streamline the arrows so they would pierce the skin but not cause any injuries to the person. Mars, in his later years, had given up the ways of war and now managed the rose garden greenhouse for his son.
Venus, Cupid’s mother, was in charge of the laboratory that produced the magical elixir that infused the tips of her son’s golden arrows so they would strike uncontrollable desire into the hearts of those struck by them. Because Cupid is a god, he decided this year there would be no lead arrows shot, as everyone deserves to feel uncontrollable desire at least one in their life.
Cupid woke up late that morning after accidentally poking his finger with an elixir-dosed arrow the night before. Psyche was walking bow-legged as she went to make a pot of coffee. Instead of showering, Cupid flew outside and under the warm waterfall nearby to be cleansed while the coffee was brewing.
After a lovely breakfast of honeydew melon with strawberries, a glass of fresh OJ, and a tasty blueberry muffin, Cupid headed to the office. After his work for the day was done, he stopped home to get Psyche and they took a whirlwind flight across the globe to see how their satellite offices at Hallmark and Cadbury were doing.
On the way home, they stopped and slept on a cloud.
I found this lovely story on the happy couple, which I never knew the details of before.

Great story li – ha ha – bow legged :)
