Always followed by her retinue, she couldn’t even use the water closet without being heard. They watched her eyes watching Jax, the gardener’s son, trimming the hedges and whispered among themselves. The love she felt was intimate and secret — yet the whole world knew, except for Jax. She was determined to find a way to speak alone with him and hope he fell in love with her. Will there be a happy ending for Mononoke and Jax? Or will he be thrown in the Dungeon by Mononoke’s father the King who then forces her to marry against her will? The story got me thinking. :-)

I love it! Maybe it’s because I’ve seen the anime but Mononoke just brings up a Japanese War Lord castle and princess. Well, maybe it’s because I recently returned from Kyoto. Whatever the case, excellent story!
