Fandango’s FOWC is release, the Word of the Day Challenge is impish, Paula’s 3 Things Challenge words are tears, grass, hologram, and Teresa’s Story Starter Challenge phrase is“Avast, ya matey!”

Back in the olden days, there were life-sized baby dolls made of plastic. The dolls were made as realistic as they could be then, with the ability to simulate drinking and eliminating fluids. Then sound boxes were put in the dolls, so if you moved them a certain way, they would cry. The next step was pre-recorded statements, where if you pulled a string, the doll would make noises or say things.

The “simulated living” was not confined to human babies. There was a bear named Teddy, who impishly said clever things. There was a parrot named Polly who could say, “Avast, ya matey!” exactly 644 times before her battery ran out. There was a pony named “My Pretty” that chewed fake grass. “My Pretty” had long pink hair that could be brushed and braided.  She was taken off of the market after too many complaints about the recorded messages that were abusive and sounded like the Wicked Witch of the East in “The Wizard of Oz.”

Such primitive toys are now found in museums.

Today, December 1, 2049, is the release date for The Impish One. The Impish One (TIO) is an interactive hologram that can be purchased and downloaded into any wristport. TIO can look like anything or anyone based on an uploaded jpg of it. TIO has various programming modes, from sweet and accommodating to Hell on Wheels. Whereas there are other products on the market who come close, the latest innovation will make TIO irresistable. TIO expresses real body fluids! Program TIO to be the baby you always wanted and you will see real tears fall from Baby TIO. Not only tears, but tears with the actual composition of tears! [tear refills sold separately]
