The team of astrophysicists took a small cell sample from the large blue crystalline eye and examined it on a slide under a superelectroplasmic photon microscope. They were shocked that the cells were just as lustrous under 1 million times magnification.

“It’s unnatural!,” said Senior Scientist Margo French.

“It’s not of this world!,” said Assistant to the Senior Scientist, Manfred Manz.

Dropping a few more cells into the chemical analyzer, First Level Cell Analyzer, Humvee Ford, whistled, then puzzled, “Guys, you really aren’t going to believe what the analysis says here.”

Margo and Manfred said at the same time, “What does it say!?”

Humvee said, there are DNA strands from cows and avocados, which makes no sense at all. How could an extraterrestrial be carrying cow and avocado genes?”

“What are the rest of the strands showing, Humvee?,” Margo asked.

“Quartz, amethyst — and deepsidivian, which is found only in the deepest part of the Mariana Trench. That leaves about 20% unidentified, presumed extraterrestrial, strands.”

Manfred said, “After what our analyses are telling us, I wouldn’t assume we are dealing with an ET. It’s more likely life forms down in the trench are its origin.”

“If that’s so, Manfred, how did the eye get to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro?,” asked Humvee.

“My motherly instincts say it flew there,” said Margo, but let’s start organizing an intensive trench mission to confirm.”
