Brought to the party under the pretense that it was a fundraiser for the Screen Actors Guild TheaterCare fund, it didn’t take Chelsi long to see what was going on. Barph, her date, was a personal assistant to Garvey Feinstein, said he had arranged a meeting after the 7-course dinner and then show, which would consist of performers giving their tribute speeches about the late great Tevin Epacey.

Chelsi knew there was a hidden agenda when Barph said Mr. Feinstein wanted to talk with her about a part in one of his new films, a starring role that would top the Kill Bill series.  She’d briefly met Feinstein at a similar fundraiser six months ago.  He’d been charming and gracious, but she knew the rumors about him.  Chelsi acted happy and excited and went on and on at how blessed she felt to be given a chance for a plum role.

Chelsi and Barph sat at their assigned seats. They were seated at a table with Armie Hammer and his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, (director) Robert Rodriguez and his wife/producer Elizabeth Avellan, and (director) Boots Riley and his date, Halle Berry. They were served only the best champagne. Through dinner and at the breaks between the performers, they all brainstormed movie ideas and who would play what and came up with one fabulous movie idea. Elizabeth Avellan nodded her head and smiled and by the end of the evening, everyone had exchanged contact information.

Barph and Chelsi were getting ready to head to Feinstein’s hotel room, where the meeting was to take place, when Chelsi told Barph she needed to go to the ladies room to freshen up her make-up first. She headed in the direction of the ladies room, then made a quiet escape.

The End.

Please note:  this is a work of fiction.

Fandango’s FOWC is escape and the Word of the Day Challenge is quiet.

I wish I had other emojis aside from smile, frown, and heart. I need a laughing emoji right now.
