Today’s cut is from disc 6 of Like Omigod! The 80s Pop Culture Box (Totally). Learn more about it in my earlier post here. The song chosen today is “Heartbeat,” by actor, Don Johnson. It was a tossup between this song and “Obsession” by Animotion, but I adore Don Johnson as an actor so the choice was simple. I used to say that Don Johnson was the sexiest man alive, and I won’t disagree with that assessment today. The last thing I saw him in was “Book Club” and he still “has it.” My favorite role for him of all time was in a movie called, “The Hot Spot.”

It became an international hit, peaking at number five on the Billboard Hot 100, and charting highly in many European countries. “Heartbeat” was recorded by Helen Reddy on her 1983 album Imagination. Blame it on the disc set. Tomorrow will be the last selection from that set, then things will get back to normal. Did you know that Don Johnson’s daughter — one of his several by different women — is Dakota Johnson? Dakota is the female lead in the 50 Shades movies and also starred in Suspiria remake (which I still haven’t seen because I’m too scared to watch it.) I think she inherited her dad’s sex appeal.

I had no clue he was her dad… I’ve seen a good movie with him in it…it’s weird and odd…A Boy and his Dog…it was made in the 70s… I can’t say I would reccomend it…Its been a while since I’ve seen it….its different…I’ll say that.
Oh I saw the original Suspiria not long ago…I liked it.

Yes I thought about seeing the remake…I love the original. Bailey and I are about to go to see Once Upon a time in Hollywood. I’m getting off work early.

Don Johnson is a better singer than- Eddie Murphy and David Soul ! Love the coloring. I have my Omigod CD’s out- will listen to them on a road trip next weekend! There are six? Found 5 got to go back digging for #6.

I can’t recall I bought it when it came out. I have the discs in cases – and the CD’s I have like that- are in boxes with other CD’s- not together.
